Student Government Association (SGA) Chartered Clubs/Organizations

How do I connect with a recognized student club at Marist?
All SGA chartered clubs have mailboxes in the SGA Office in the Murray Student Center, SC 3123. Marist students, faculty, and staff can leave messages for clubs via their club mailbox.

How do I start a club?
The first step in the club chartering process is to fill out a new club application form. The form can be found at the Student Government Office. Prospective clubs are encouraged to meet with the SGA Vice President for Club Affairs to review their request. The VP for Club Affairs will share the timeline and items to be completed in order to be eligible for a club charter. Here is a list of the chartered clubs and organizations at Marist:

How can clubs/organizations reserve a room for a club meeting/event?
To reserve a room in the Murray Student Center, clubs should complete the online Student Activities Room Request Form found here. Please allow 2 business days for your reservation to be processed. In order to process your request in this time frame, please make sure you enter your club name exactly as it appears on your charter. If you wish to book a recurring meeting or have a special request, please make sure you include this information in the comments section of your online request.

How do I organize a bus trip for my club?
Visit the Student Activities Office in the Murray Student Center, SC 3115 to book a bus for your club’s trip.

Can someone help my club plan an event?
The staff in Student Activities is available to assist your club in planning all events, i.e. room reservations, event promotion, AV/room setup needs, and coordination of other event needs.

Student Services

How do I purchase a ticket for off campus trips and other events?
Student Activities and the Student Programming Council (SPC) will promote all ticket sale dates for events requiring tickets via posters, social media, and calendars. Tickets will be on sale on the advertised date and time at the Student Activities Office, Murray Student Center, SC 3115, and can be purchased using cash, check, or Marist Money. All tickets for athletic events or MAAC tournament games are on sale through the Athletics office only. Please visit for ticketing information for athletic events.

How do I return a ticket for a trip if I can no longer attend?
If you purchased a ticket for a trip and can no longer attend, please return your ticket to the Student Activities Office, Murray Student Center, SC 3115 to initiate the return process. If your ticket is resold, you will receive a refund for the ticket. The staff recommend that you bring your ticket back to Student Activities as early as possible to allow time for the ticket to be re-sold. 

How do I sign up for a Red Fox Enrichment (RFE) class/workshop?
Student Activities will promote all RFE classes/workshops via posters, social media, and calendars. You can sign-up for a RFE class/workshop at the Student Activities Office when the sign-up process begins. If there are open spots in the classes/workshops throughout the semester, students can sign up for those classes by visiting the Student Activities Office during business hours.

Where can I find information on transportation services for breaks and end of the semester?
Visit the Transportation Services web page for information regarding college breaks and the end of semester car service to JFK and LaGuardia airports. The Student Activities Office will also advertise this service via posters, social media, and calendars.

How do I find information on the local bus shuttle?
To learn about the local bus shuttle, visit the following web page and scroll down to the Dutchess County Public Transit information. All questions concerning this service should be directed to Student Affairs; 845-575-3515.
