Dr. Kristen (Kris) Dovgan

Assistant Professor of Psychology

Bio

Kris Dovgan earned her Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Psychology from George Mason University. She has worked in schools, homes, and communities focusing on improving the quality of life and outcomes for individuals with disabilities and their families. She has held faculty positions at the University of Hawai’i, SUNY New Paltz, and Central Connecticut State University, and she completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Thompson Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders at the University of Missouri. Her research focuses on comorbid conditions of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorders. She has extensive training and experience in research methods and statistics, utilizing a variety of techniques to assess behavioral data, track developmental outcomes, and evaluate interventions. Dr. Dovgan enjoys traveling (four continents, 18 countries, and counting!), hiking and backpacking, and visual art.
