Strategic Plan
Our Vision for the Future
President Kevin Weinman initiated the new strategic planning process in May 2022. The new plan will build upon Marist’s previous accomplishments while articulating an ambitious vision for the future. The co-chairs of the new planning process are Emily Saland, Vice President for Strategic Initiatives and Chief of Staff, and James G. Snyder, Dean for Academic Engagement and Associate Professor of Philosophy. They are excited to work closely with all members of the Marist community – students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends, and community partners – to inform the creation of new strategies that will transform the future of the College.
The planning process, overseen by a steering committee, will unfold over the 2022-2023 academic year with the goal of presenting a new strategic plan to the Board of Trustees in May 2023. The planning process will include an assessment of the impact and outcomes of the 2018-2023 Strategic Plan, a review of the College’s mission and values statements, an analysis of the internal and external environment, the formulation of strategies, and the development of specific goals and initiatives in support of those strategies. The steering committee will use a mix of surveys, town halls, and visioning groups to engage with as many Marist stakeholders as possible.

The Strategic Plan Steering Committee is responsible for ensuring a transparent, inclusive, and meaningful process, one that seeks out and incorporates the voices and perspectives of all members of the Marist community. One of the first objectives of the Steering Committee will be to develop a robust communications and engagement strategy that ensures multiple opportunities and vehicles through which you can contribute your ideas, including participation on a working group, in a listening session or town hall, or through written feedback submitted via strategicplan@marist.edu.
